Sliding Systems' Non-Corrosive, Heavy Duty Front Locking Handle is extensively used on fire truck and special vehicle drawers (straight slide out and slide and tilt). The double D handle and push button locking mechanism is located at the centre of the drawer front in order to ensure the operator's gloved hands are kept well away from pinch risks. Rated to 500kg, this is an efficient locking system.

The LILO version of this locking handle allows for a rear mounting of the lock mechanism and bars. Extra components are added, including a 1000mm M10 threaded bar with BZP plating, extra threaded plunger, lock and mounting blocks. All the kit needed to modify to a fully functioning LILO lock system.

The strong aluminium handle enables the operator to exert full control over the movement of what is likely to be a heavy drawer, both when opening and closing, and the locking mechanism can be installed so as to provide a slam-shut lock-in functionality for slide and tilt drawers, as well as a lock-in and lock-out function for conventional straight slide-out drawers when mounted under the drawer pan. The locking mechanism retracts the spring-loaded locking bolts, which slot into the slam-shut lock blocks integrally fixed to our award-winning slide and tilt front bracket.

The handle is manufactured from cast aluminium with a specialist 7200 paint treatment designed for aerospace. The rods are supplied drilled and chamfered in 304 stainless steel. The plunger release is milled aluminium for weight reduction and strength. The housing is strong aluminium channel (not plastic!) and the internal components are moulded from strong GRP. The handle is supplied as a complete assembly, not in kit form. We own all the tooling for our handles.

The unit is generally supplied without an aluminium drawer front, and at standard widths of 540, 1040, 1540 and 2040mm. The user would then cut the locking bolts to their own desired width, although the system can be supplied with the locking bolts pre-cut to the user's specified length. HANDLE NOW AVAILABLE IN YELLOW FROM STOCK.

The drawer front is not supplied. The Heavy Duty Front Locks are available ex stock. Volume OEM prices available on request.

Aerospace

Following thorough research in house and at our manufacturing facilities we can offer a slide which is particularly suited to aircraft seating. The full aerospace range is fitted with cross roller bearings, due avoid any effect of brinelling.

The 5220 Radial Slide (140-154kg/pair) is made from high strength aircraft allows which has be rigorously tested to outperform standard ball bearing models.

The T6 aircraft grade aluminium beams have milled race tracks for tolerance. The surface finish is black hardened anodised as standard, other finishes are available on request.

The cross-roller bearings are made from precision hardened steel and chromed rods, it is possible to fit them with Delrin if the project requires light weight, performing slides.

7075 -T6 aluminium provides a high strength material, commonly used in aircraft fittings with a Rockwell A hardness 53.5 and an ultimate tensile strength of 572 Mpa.

The 450mm length with a 480mm travel has been independently (cyclically and abuse) tested to 60,000 cycles with a 100kg load, passing all criteria for aircraft seating use.

Banking furniture is recognised as being of a specialised nature, requiring slide products that offer the operator smooth, reliable and safe movement when drawers are fully loaded with coinage but also providing high levels of security against unuathorised access when required.

Ship Borne

Applications can range from slide based storage systems, lockers and furniture, through rack mounted electronic components, and onto operational and weapon systems requiring linear movement. If required products manufactured from high grade stainless steel can be supplied offering highest levels of corrosion resistance and low magnetic signatures.

Vehicles

Slides and bespoke sub-assemblies for mounting electronic and other equipment including weapon components on vehicles ranging from lightly armoured personnel vehicles (radio and other electronic components) through to battlefield tanks (internal storage, ammunition handling, slide-out generators and workstations).

Slide Drawers

Solid section steel slides lengths from 300mm to 2,000mm for pull-out equipment drawers. Extensions from 50% to 150% of closed length can be supplied, in addition slide systems that offer sequential dual extension with bi-directional travel allowing the drawer to extened from either side of the vehicle. This enables rescue crews to access vital equipment quickly and safely, regardless of the vehicle's orientation to the emergency scene.

Systems

Our range of reinforced heavy duty steel slides fitted with additional ball tracks and reinforceing ball bearings are ideally suited for use in some of the more unique applications. Together with a range of slides designed using a rigid "I" beam construction our products offer execelent performance under conditions that may exert high direct and tortional loadings as experienced in such applications as pull-out equipment boards and vertical shelves.

Trays

Following extensive testing on selected models our slides are used by the U.K.'s leading producers of complete equipment carriers. These complete tray systems are ready for quick installation, including bespoke mountings for specialist equipment such as auxilliary pumps, tools, hoses and rescue equipment.

Lock-in and lock-out mechanisms facilitate quick and safe operation of the equipment carrier, as well as hold the fully-loaded drawer securely in position when the vehicle is in motion or at the scene.

Machine Building

The design and construction of speciialised operational machinery and machine guards. The excellent range of Saibo hardened linear rails are designed to be economical whilst offering exceptional service life required in machine guarding.

General

Specification and design of linear movement systems incorporating linear rails and telescopic slides for use in machine guarding applications and the design and installation of manufacturing, cargo handling and other situation specific plant and machinery.

In such industrial applications, reliability and robustness are key requirements. When incorporated into automated plant, movement precision is also vital. The load capacities indicated on our high-end range represent the maximum load that can be carried whilst causing a slide deflection at full extension of no more than 1% of the slide's closed length. This is a much higher and more rigorous standard than is typically used by others for measuring slide load capacities, as a results our customers have come to rely on Sliding System's products for their durability and strength.

Our range also includes slides that operate with ultra-high precision based on innovative roller bearing technology, and which are self aligning.

Smaller, lighter duty rolled steel or solid section slides from our General Devices range will suit a keyboard tray or a display screen, whereas cold drawn steel section slides will fit requirements for full vehicle extension such as mobile broadcast vehicles carrying several 1000kg’s.

Applications involving shock and vibration call for heavy duty, cold drawn steel section slides which we are also able to supply in 316L marine grade stainless steel. If weight or corrosion resistance are parameters that are important we suggest Aluminium T6 section slides, available in load capacities up to 330kg.

Outdoor applications can be fixed in place with specialist marine grade 316L hooks, which safely hold tool boxes or vehicle covers in place.
