The 5220 Radial Slide (140-154Kg/pair) is part of our aerospace range, designed particularly for aircraft seating. Utilising high strength aircraft alloys and unique cross roller bearing systems, this slide has been rigorously tested to out perform standard ball bearing models.
The 5220 Radial Slide is manufactured from 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminium with the bearing races milled for tolerance. The surface finish is black hardened anodised as standard, however there are various options available. The bearings are precision hardened steel and chromed rods however Delrin can be specified to reduce weight.
Material characteristics of 7075-T6 aluminium provide a very high strength material used for highly stressed structural parts, recommended and used widely in aircraft fittings. Rockwell A hardness is 53.5 HRC. Ultimate tensile strength is 572 MPa.
The 5220 slide has cross roller bearings designed to replace ball bearing action slides which can suffer from bearing migration under vibration. There is no play play between the beams, providing for a very precise, deflection free extension. This makes it an ideal choice for demanding applications such as aircraft seating where offset loading and stresses can cause premature slide failure.
The 450mm length with a 480mm travel has been independently (cyclically and abuse) tested to 60,000 cycles with a 100kg load, passing all criteria for aircraft seating use.
