The Aluminium Rail System is a versatile, cost effective means for linear movement on loads to 80kg. Suitable for manual machine guards, doors and seating where precision is not required. The carriers are designed to work freely and without pre-load, so any misalignment in the fabrication is accommodated.Cut to length, up to 2400mm and supplied undrilled from stock.
However, any length and drilling pattern can also be supplied from production. Rails can be continuously joined to reach any desired travel.

The Aluminium Rail System is a versatile, cost effective means for linear movement on loads to 80kg. Suitable for manual machine guards, doors and seating where precision is not required. The carriers are designed to work freely and without pre-load, so any misalignment in the fabrication is accommodated.Cut to length, up to 2400mm and supplied undrilled from stock. However, any length and drilling pattern can also be supplied from production. Rails can be continuously joined to reach any desired travel.

Carriers consist of a steel plate fitted with two 32mm decentred bearings coated with Polyoxymethylene thermoplastic (POM). This provides excellent dimensional stability with low noise and minimal rail wear. Loading is 80kg on the direct axis and 60 kg flat per carrier.

Carriers can also be supplied in 3 and 5 bearing options along with a complete door mount bracket. This is a 495mm long bracket with two bearings designed to move an entire door along the rail. Supplied from stock.

Optional end stops 4070.ALRS.STOP and/or 4070.ALRS.SSTOP can be fitted. These are milled aluminium and are fully adjustable to offer a buffered stop to the carrier. Please advise with order.

Specials

For the mounting of electronics in non-standard environments, many different factors may need to be taken into account.  For example, when mounted in vehicles, the electronic components and the slide systems holding them in place have to be able to withstand vibration, impact, and dynamic forces caused by the movement of the vehicle itself.  In some cases, particularly military applications, the system may need to be designed to withstand damp, dusty and corrosive conditions as well.

To help ensure that your product performance criteria are fully satisfied a range of additional options are available for consideration - selection of base materials for the slide beams, cages and ball bearings, specification of corrosion resistant finishes, end-stops, locking mechanisms, double extensions, slide reinforcing and many more.

Fire

Equipment stowage components and systems as installed on fire engines

Slide Drawers

Solid section steel slides lengths from 300mm to 2,000mm for pull-out equipment drawers. Extensions from 50% to 150% of closed length can be supplied, in addition slide systems that offer sequential dual extension with bi-directional travel allowing the drawer to extened from either side of the vehicle. This enables rescue crews to access vital equipment quickly and safely, regardless of the vehicle's orientation to the emergency scene.

Systems

Our range of reinforced heavy duty steel slides fitted with additional ball tracks and reinforceing ball bearings are ideally suited for use in some of the more unique applications. Together with a range of slides designed using a rigid "I" beam construction our products offer execelent performance under conditions that may exert high direct and tortional loadings as experienced in such applications as pull-out equipment boards and vertical shelves.

Trays

Following extensive testing on selected models our slides are used by the U.K.'s leading producers of complete equipment carriers. These complete tray systems are ready for quick installation, including bespoke mountings for specialist equipment such as auxilliary pumps, tools, hoses and rescue equipment.

Lock-in and lock-out mechanisms facilitate quick and safe operation of the equipment carrier, as well as hold the fully-loaded drawer securely in position when the vehicle is in motion or at the scene.

One day we could be talking to an ambitious DIY customer who wants to install a removable console tray in his game room and the next project could be a whole building interior refurbishment destined for micro flats. Whilst each project represents different challenges and requirements we are confident in finding a suitable slide or linear rail.

Standard furniture fittings will suit the Thomas Regout or Fulterer range of rolled steel slides and linear rail. Whereas high end architectural furniture design may call for aluminium drawer slides, such as the 8027/8028 or the aluminium T6 slide from our professional range.

To suit yacht interior design, we can supply Viadana chandlery and stainless steel 316L telescopic slides.

Museum Storage

Workspace Storage

GSF offers a wide range of standardised products that are available direct from stock and which are most suitable for use in workspace desking, tool storage, assembly and operation stations. These products can be purchased free of restrictive minimum order quantities and charges.

Laboratory

Our Professional Range of extreme duty telescopic slides has been extended to include all stainless-steel versions. Our extreme environment stainless steel slides are manufactured from marine grade 316L (1.4404) stainless steel (inox) offering a very high corrosion resistance, including laboratory applications, where standard grade 304 is ineffective. The austenitic structure of 316L stainless gives excellent toughness, even at cryogenic temperatures. Due to our flexible production we can offer different temperature grease or ungreased slides for dry rooms if requested at the time of order.

Each beam is milled, the machined ball tracks provide accuracy, making it suitable for mobile diagnostic and laboratory applications where shock and vibration resistance required. Furthermore, mobile deployment units that have external generators fitted require corrosion resistance, the SDTS slides beams are 316L, end stops and cages are 316 to offer suitable and complete corrosion protection in the harshest of environments.

Linear

Linear slide systems are designed to support and transfer loads over distance and an be used for either horizontal or vertical movements.

Internal Doors

Linear Rail is generally the preferred component for mounting internal sliding doors.

Machine Building

The design and construction of speciialised operational machinery and machine guards. The excellent range of Saibo hardened linear rails are designed to be economical whilst offering exceptional service life required in machine guarding.

General

Specification and design of linear movement systems incorporating linear rails and telescopic slides for use in machine guarding applications and the design and installation of manufacturing, cargo handling and other situation specific plant and machinery.

In such industrial applications, reliability and robustness are key requirements. When incorporated into automated plant, movement precision is also vital. The load capacities indicated on our high-end range represent the maximum load that can be carried whilst causing a slide deflection at full extension of no more than 1% of the slide's closed length. This is a much higher and more rigorous standard than is typically used by others for measuring slide load capacities, as a results our customers have come to rely on Sliding System's products for their durability and strength.

Our range also includes slides that operate with ultra-high precision based on innovative roller bearing technology, and which are self aligning.

Our design team has the ability to offer all or any of these components when working alongside your own engineering team.

Marine - Non Corrosive

The need for storage is not confined to land structures, every seaworthy structure requires a multitude of pull outs or heavy-duty generator tray. We can offer the widest range of stainless steel 316L telescopic slides and non- corrosive tool mounts.

For interior fittings we suggest 304 stainless steel slides, larger heavy-duty applications are covered with our specialist bottom mount General Devices D1050/D1054 slide. The latter allows the user to look a generator tray in the opened and closed position. Bottom mount slides are useful for applications where space is limited thus a traditional drawer slide installation is not suitable. The poxy coating offers some corrosion resistance but achieve full corrosion resistance, we suggest stainless steel 316L which can be supplied upon customer request.

Our full professional range DTS is now available in marine grade stainless steel 316L which includes the end stops and ball cages. With low profiles starting from 40mm up to profile height and lengths up to 2000mm we are confident to be able to supply a complete range.

Merchant Vessels

Our range includes heavy duty stainless steel slides (partial or full extension), and can be bespoke engineered with a range of options in respect of surface hardening, strengthening and corrosion resistant finishes to ensure flawless operation in the chosen application.

The retail sector is increasingly becoming a shopping ‘experience’ therefore the fittings for such outlets are vital to fit the bill. With our full range of slides, we can help you achieve both design and functionality.

Our lighter duty slides are well suited for smaller drawers or applications where little load is applied when extended. If the project requirements are to move a wall from its original position to display goods a bottom mount slide might be more suitable due to space restrictions. The Fulterer Range of vertical pull out slides provides stability, load capacity as well as the sleek design required in current retail outfits. All slides in the Fulterer range are available in different finishes (white, grey and black) which can be supplied against MOQ’s.

Special & Commercial Vehicles

Our telescopic slides and tool mounts cover even the most demanding project for commercial vehicles. Smaller, lighter duty rolled steel or solid section slides from our General Devices range will suit a keyboard tray or a display screen, whereas cold drawn steel section slides will fit requirements for full vehicle extension such as mobile broadcast vehicles carrying several 1000kg’s.
