Sliding Systems’ engineers have vast experience in the defence sector, where they face daily challenges to forward innovative slide designs to cutting edge technology OEMs.
One such project was the result of a meeting at DSEI defence exhibition in London back in September. The customer was looking for a lightweight alloy slide to fit into an airborne military container and be subjected to significant shock-loading. Then it had to over travel to 120% of the slide’s closed length and be totally rigid at full extension. Plus can we do it as slim as possible, with rounded edges to protect the delicate wiring.
