Channel 4 George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces recently featured a fully refurbished hearse with pull out coffin on a pair of our heavy duty DTS slides. Our Wrexham based engineers get on average 25 new projects per day and this wasn’t the weirdest….. it was close, but we’ve had many challenges over the past 27 years.
Colleen Roberts, our highly experienced Sales Manager, dealt with the vehicle up-fitter throughout the design process as they visited the factory. A pair of DTS50 length 1300mm were chosen from stock and we increased the extension to 1560mm so the casket totally left the vehicle. Rated at a 230kg per extended pair, these slides have a very low profile of 50mm. Ideal for vehicle floor mounts. We then added the locking handle to secure the unit both closed and fully extended. Then the all important Sliding Systems sticker, which was prominently seen when the slides extended.
We often get our products featured on the TV, but this was a rare chance to see them being used and on such a high profile programme. Did anyone see our slides on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here? You probably didn’t, but we knew and that’s all that matters.
