Click here to view larger image of 95.2000 - Interfron VP700 Hydraulic Backpack The Interfron VP700 backpack power unit provides hydraulic power to operate all major types of hydraulic rescue equipment, giving freedom for rescue teams to carry out rescue operations in remote and inaccessible locations.  It removes the trip risk of long trailing hoses to connect the rescue tool to the fire truck or a petrol driven pump unit, giving the operator greater freedom of movement.  Powered by interchangeable batteries, the unit is emission free and so also enables spreaders, jaws of life® , rams and cutters to be used in locations with otherwise inadequate ventilation.

The VP700 is housed in a high impact durable GRP case, which is watertight up to a depth of 2m, and is equipped with harness and slings in order to be worn by the operator and, alternatively, to let the unit be fastened to a helicopter winch.  Because of its sturdiness and portability, it is recommended particularly for heavy duties, sea rescue, mountains and tunnels.

With appropriate connectors (also available) the VP700 can be used to operate rescue tools of all major types, including

Holmatro
Zumro
Weber
TNT
Amkus
Lancier
Nike
Centaur
Enerpac
Simlex
Power Team
Larzep
Resqtec
Hurst

The pump is powered by a 12V DC motor, with a battery run down time of over 30 minutes.  A fresh battery may be installed in seconds.  The power unit is worn low on the back and weighs only 18 Kgs (39.6 lbs) and is similar in overall dimensions to SCUBA.

The hydraulic operating pressure is adjustable to deliver 5100, 9200 or 10500 psi.

Additional technical details are available on the downloadable datasheets.

Suitable Applications for this Product
Application Icon Defence - Ground, marine and air defence vehicle applications such as equipment stowage, mountings for weapon systems and racks for electronic systems
Air Borne

Aluminium slides are generally specified for most air borne applications as they provide a light but rugged interface for applications that are sensitive to excessive mass.

Ship Borne

Applications can range from slide based storage systems, lockers and furniture, through rack mounted electronic components, and onto operational and weapon systems requiring linear movement. If required products manufactured from high grade stainless steel can be supplied offering highest levels of corrosion resistance and low magnetic signatures.

Vehicles

Slides and bespoke sub-assemblies for mounting electronic and other equipment including weapon components on vehicles ranging from lightly armoured personnel vehicles (radio and other electronic components) through to battlefield tanks (internal storage, ammunition handling, slide-out generators and workstations).

Application Icon Fire - Equipment stowage components and systems as installed on fire engines
Systems

Our range of reinforced heavy duty steel slides fitted with additional ball tracks and reinforceing ball bearings are ideally suited for use in some of the more unique applications. Together with a range of slides designed using a rigid "I" beam construction our products offer execelent performance under conditions that may exert high direct and tortional loadings as experienced in such applications as pull-out equipment boards and vertical shelves.

Application Icon Offshore/Civil Marine - From cruise ships to offshore oil rigs, there is a vast range of applications for slides in marine vessels.
Cruise Vessels

As well as offering slides suitable for the full range of operational functions typically to be found on vessels, GSF is able to supply telescopic slide and linear rail components ideally suited to use in passenger cabin furniture and the achievment of muti-use flexibility in passenger areas eg pull-out stages, platforms and auditorium seating; flexible mountings for lighting and sound systems.

In such areas, consideration needs to be given to how to ensure that linear motion components (eg a cabin drawer) can not pick up excessive momentum and cause injury to passengers even though the vessel itself may be pitching and rolling.  Lock-in and lock-out functions will also need to be more robust in a vessel application.

Merchant Vessels

Applications can range from slide based storage systems, lockers and furniture, through rack mounted electronic compenents, and onto operational systems requiring linear movement.

Whether specifying product for a 19" electronic rack or to mount standby generator, the telescopic slide system needs to retain rigidity and be safe to operate despite ship motion and vibration.

GSF's range includes heavy duty stainless steel slides (partial or full extension), and can be bespoke engineered with a range of options in respect of surface hardening, strengthening and corrosion resistant finishes to ensure flawless operation in the chosen application.

With its extensive expertise and design capability GSF can work closely with your own engineering team to design and produce complete drawer sub-assemblies, taking account of all the special characteristics required for the product to work effectively in the marine environment.

Oil Rigs

Telescopic Slide components for storage and equipment stowage areas; Slide and linear rail components for operational machinery.  Whilst offshore installations are generally static structures and so do not require the telescopic slide components to be able to withstand the same dynamic forces, issues of corrosion and the ability to operate reliably in the marine environment remain unchanged.

From high precision roller-bearing slides and systems through to standard stainless steel slides for use in staff accomodation areas, GSF is able to provide expert input and select an appropriate product from its range to match the application.

Application Icon Special Vehicles - Specialist conversions of vehicles and trailers, for example mobile exhibition trailers, coaches and horse boxes with pull-out platforms, generators, workshops and other features.
Response Vehicles

Roadside assistance and other categories of vehicle that need to stow and provide easy access to equipment can be enhanced through appropriate use of telescopic drawer slide and linear rail systems.

The twin requirements of operator safety and operational effectiveness are of paramount importance.  GSF's ability to select and adapt from an unrivalled base product range, and its ability to assist with the design of bespoke and space-saving drawer systems enable us to make a significant contribution to your own product design.
