Drawer Solutions

PROBLEM:  To make the equipment and storage drawers at all levels highly accessible – FAST

SOLUTION:   We worked closely with the vehicle manufacturers to provide suitable telescopic and linear slide systems from stock.

These novel and dependable telescopic slides and slide and tilt linear slides answered the brief, precisely.  Those items delivered directly from stock included:

Special Slides

PROBLEM:  The easy servicing of one tonne battery rafts slung under rail cars.  They must meet extreme stresses of 7 tonnes in collision; survive vibration and corrosion and have a working life of 25 years.

SOLUTION:  In a world first we provided a Telerace TLR80 slide.  This protected from wear and corrosion and increased strength fourfold to meet all operational requirements.

GSF Sliding Systems in Action

PROBLEM:  The MOD contracted Factair Ltd. to help with the provision of heavy duty slides in two applications:

TESTIMONIAL:

“GSF Sliding Systems worked closely with us to find the best solutions to a very challenging project.  I was impressed by their attention to detail, technical knowledge and customer service.  I am pleased to say that the initial project was so successful that a further two units have been supplied.”

Clive Wakeman, Managing Director of Factair Limited

The DTS-50: Setting Industry Standards

PROBLEM:  Most of the major manufacturer of pump carriers specify DTS-50 heavy duty telescopic slides  from GSF Sliding Systems and they are firmly established as key components in a wide range of applications.  Historically, however there has been no  means of benchmarking slides by their performance in vehicular or industrial applications.

SOLUTION:  To begin the benchmarking process and demonstrate the strength and durability of the DTS-50 telescopic slides, as components of an Angus Sacol pump carrier.  The three test phases were:

  1. Static Load Deflection and Operating Force Test – to identify the peak and minimum operating forces required to open and close the carriers under load.

  2. Cycle Test – to demonstrate the mechanical durability of the product, with pull-in and pull-out operating forces.

  3. Freefall Drop / Destruction Test – to measure the mechanical resistance of the slides to shock loads

RESULTS: The performance of the DTS-50 slides was outstanding.  The DTS-50 can be produced in any reasonable length, with a range of locking options, metal finishes and bespoke fixings if required.
